AI Usage Policy

Permitted Use

  • Artificial Intelligence (AI) can be used for manuscript editing purposes, including grammar correction, writing style improvement, and format adjustment;
  • The use of AI tools for data analysis and interpretation is permitted, provided that authors transparently explain the stages of analysis or interpretation involving AI and justify its use. This information must be clearly stated in the methods section and/or acknowledgements.

Prohibited Uses

  • AI is not permitted to be used to write or generate scientific manuscripts in their entirety that replace the intellectual contribution of the author;
  • Authors are prohibited from using AI to fabricate (create fictitious data, articles, or research results) or falsify (manipulate data, images, graphics, or other research results).

AI Usage Statement

  • Authors must explicitly state the use of AI when submitting manuscripts;
  • This statement will be included in the published article, for example in the methods or acknowledgements section. Example statement: “The authors used AI-based tools to assist with grammar correction, language refinement, and preliminary data interpretation to improve the readability and consistency of the manuscript. The entire process was carried out under the full supervision of the authors, who remain responsible for all intellectual contributions".

Principle of Transparency

  • All data, findings, and analyses presented in the manuscript must be scientifically verifiable and reflect responsible research practices;
  • If the editor or reviewer has doubts about the authenticity of the manuscript, the author may be asked to provide supporting documentation, including raw data, AI usage notes, manuscript revision history, and data sources used.

Penalties for Violations

  • Violations of AI usage policies are considered academic misconduct and may result in retraction of the manuscript, rejection of publication, or formal notification to the author's affiliated institution.

Editorial Procedures in Verifying AI Use

  • The editorial team will check whether the author has explicitly stated the use of AI at the time of manuscript submission, either through the submission form or in the methods or acknowledgements section;
  • The editorial team will also assess the appropriateness of AI use in accordance with journal policies, including ensuring that AI is not used for primary writing or data fabrication;
  • If there are doubts about the authenticity or integrity of the manuscript, the editor reserves the right to request additional documents, such as revision history, AI usage logs, or raw data, for further evaluation.
