Screening Plagiarism

Every manuscript submitted to the JPPSB Journal must be free from content that contains plagiarism. Authors are advised to use plagiarism detection software to check for content similarity. Editors detect plagiarism in articles submitted to JPPSB by using TURNITIN. The maximum limit for plagiarism in JPPGS journals is 25%.

The JPPGS Journal Editorial Team states that plagiarism is unacceptable. This condition establishes a policy of specific actions (penalties) when plagiarism is identified and indicated in an article submitted for publication in the JPPSB Journal.

Definition:
Plagiarism is the act of intentionally or unintentionally obtaining or attempting to obtain credit or marks for a scientific work, by quoting part or all of the work and/or scientific work of others recognized as their scientific work, without properly and adequately acknowledging the source.

The following are some of the things that are included in the act of plagiarism: (1) Submitting articles by others without a reference; (2) Paraphrasing without stating clear sources; and (3) Using ideas, theories, data, or information without including clear sources.

If plagiarism is identified, the Editor-in-Chief is responsible for reviewing the article and will approve action according to the level of plagiarism detected, with the following guidelines:

Level of Plagiarism & Sanctions:

Plagiarizing a short sentence from another article without citing the source. Action: The author is given a warning and a request to change the text and cite correctly.

Plagiarizing a large part of another article without proper citation and not mentioning the source. Action: The submitted article is rejected for publication in the JPPSBJournal and the author may be sanctioned not to be allowed to publish in the JPPSB Journal for 2 years.

All authors of the article are responsible for the content of the article they submit as they all sign the Author's Statement to the JPPSB Journal which will be provided when the manuscript is accepted. If the article is classified as plagiarism, then all authors will be subject to the same action.

If the author is proven to submit a manuscript to JPPSB Journal by simultaneously submitting it also to another Journal, and this overlap is found during the reviewer process or after publication, then action will be taken according to point 2 above.

Authors who submit their articles for publication in the JPPSB Journal must absolutely guarantee that the manuscript is free from the things mentioned above. If it is proven that there is plagiarism in the article, the author must be willing to accept sanctions in accordance with the law and the Editor of the JPPSB Journal has the right to take sanctions according to the editorial team's policy.
